LKY: The Experience

Happening from now till 31 December 2023, explore the life of Mr Lee Kuan Yew at LKY: THE EXPERIENCE, an immersive adventure that vividly recreates his memories, key achievements and driving forces through a unique journey through time. Spanning more than 17,000 square feet and comprising over 20 immersive rooms within three distinct zones that reimagine significant periods and highlights of his life as part of commemorating his 100th birthday. This immersive encounter constructs a compelling storyline through the use of interactive displays, multimedia presentations and immersive hands-on activities that pay tribute to his remarkable life and contributions.

The Moments

On the first level, known as “The Moments,” visitors can step into a faithfully recreated 1930s classroom, a reflection of Mr Lee’s own childhood memories.

Follow the clothesline that gradually transforms into flames, symbolising pivotal moments in his life, such as the Japanese occupation and other significant turning points.

Handwritten letters from Mrs Lee and a quirky green vintage car that’s representative of LKY’s budding romance with his wife.

The next room transports you to the wedding reception that took place in 1950 at the iconic Raffles Hotel. Every detail has been meticulously recreated, from the angle of the wedding cake to the wedding menu.

You’ll have the opportunity to glimpse into the Lees’ home, particularly during a period when Mrs Lee’s health was declining, and witness how Mr Lee Kuan Yew cared for her.

The Beliefs

On Level 2, you’ll encounter a more playful and lighthearted atmosphere. This zone is filled with numerous Instagram-worthy spots where you can capture plenty of photos in creatively themed rooms. Additionally, you can challenge yourself with games designed to replicate some of LKY’s experiences. You can test your typing skills with a typing challenge or a reflex game that will give you a taste of what it’s like to tackle multiple problems simultaneously.

Time to unwind and have some fun by diving into a ball pit filled with inflatables.

Next, you’ll pass through a mirrored corridor, leading you into a delightful rainbow-themed room. Neon rainbow arches are waiting for you to capture vibrant portraits that embody Mr Lee Kuan Yew’s famous quote: “follow that rainbow, go ride it”.

The Unwritten

On Level 3, known as “The Unwritten,” the focus shifts to how Lee Kuan Yew’s life experiences moulded the ideas and principles that left a profound impact on Singapore as a nation. Visitors also have the opportunity to contribute by sharing their own stories about how he inspired them, with the chance to affix these narratives to the wall, creating a collective tapestry of inspiration and appreciation.
