Singapore’s light art festival, i Light returned for its 10th edition. From May 31 to June 23, art enthusiasts can visit Marina Bay, South Beach, Millenia Walk, and Tanjong Pagar to enjoy 17 light art installations that illuminate the area while also learning about sustainability. This year’s festival is inspired by the theme of Cyclical Nature and the color green, which represents nature and our environment on the visible light spectrum.

Liminal; Minimal

Hidden within the built environment, waste silently bears witness to the development and excesses of a modern city. Constructed with wooden beams, reclaimed pallets, and discarded dust nettings, Liminal; Minimal reveals the concealed wastefulness of urban construction by using remnants from building sites to frame the surrounding cityscape.

Iwagumi Air Scape
Iwagumi Air Scape draws inspiration from the Japanese art form of Iwagumi, which involves arranging rocks in aquascaping or underwater gardening to emphasize the raw, humble beauty of nature.
Creating the illusion of immense weight, these air-filled inflatables embody the allure and mystery of mountains. Colors and soundscapes change in response to the movement of city dwellers passing by. Encountering these serene yet majestic boulders, typically found in wild landscapes, brings a sense of awe and wonder to the urban experience.
