Scents of Being: A sensory voyage with Aesop
Aesop introduces “Scents of Being,” an experience that explores the deep connection between fragrance and identity. Set in an enchanting forest, each of Aesop’s eleven captivating Eaux de Parfum drawn from myth, poetry, art, or nature serves as a beacon, igniting curiosity and guiding explorers into unknown territories. This sensory journey encourages introspection, with each scent reflecting past memories and resonating with the intricate layers of human complexity.

Opera in Motion: A Dynamic Tribute to Chinese Opera

This installation pays tribute to the heritage of Chinese opera at the National Design Centre, which once housed the Chinese Opera Institute. It features a tricycle adorned with tarpaulin-covered boxes, inviting visitors to engage with zoetropes depicting the movements of opera performers. Pedaling the tricycle activates a light projection, illuminating an illustrated Chinese opera scene on the centre’s walls. Ambient melodies and festive lighting enhance the immersive experience.

Fortune Beads

“Fortune Beads” is an immersive interactive installation that engages participants in a thrilling race against time. Players accumulate points by touching as many illuminated beads as possible within a limited timeframe, combining strategy, agility, and fun. The structure of the installation is inspired by the beads of an abacus—a simple, hand-operated calculating tool still used today. Many generations remember learning to operate the abacus in school, making this installation a nostalgic nod to the past.
