Dutch Fort

Pulau Pangkor used to be the center for piracy and in 1670, the Dutch built a fort for storage and protection of tin trade in Perak. The ruins of the Dutch Fort was gazetted as an ancient monument and historical site in 1978. Meters away from the fort, you will find Batu Bersurat (known as Tiger Rock), a huge boulder with historical inscriptions of the initials ‘VOC’ which refers to the Dutch East India Company.

Some of the best beaches among locals and tourists can be found at Pangkor Island; Pantai Teluk Nipah, Pantai Pasir Bogak and Coral Bay.
