As I grow another year old, a lot has changed in the past year or so, for better and worse. Change has touched every aspect of my life, from family and friends. It’s been a year of loss, fear and sadness but it’s also been a year of new beginnings, happiness and love. Sometimes life isn’t fair. Bad things happen to good people. There are times when I feel like the whole world is against us and things can’t possibly get any worst.
I’ve learned that we have two choices when it comes to facing life’s obstacles: let them defeat you, or take the opportunity to learn and grow. I’ve learned lessons and gained advice in places I never thought I would, and from people I never thought would help. Most importantly, is being true and honest to myself. Life is like a movie but we can control the flows by the choices we make. Life is a precious gift and tends to be unpredictable. It can be beautiful and fulfilling and sometimes frustrating and infuriating. What I’m trying to say here is, count every moments, blessings and don’t take anything or anyone for granted.
I close my eyes and prepare to blow out the candles on my birthday cake; I won’t just be making a wish. I’ll be taking a moment to appreciate my life, and all of the wonderful, people and things that make it all worthwhile. Happy birthday to me!

I don’t know much about life either, one thing I’m sure though now, that whatever will happen in our life, even if we don’t want it, even if we don’t expect it, we’ll adapt. Maybe unknowingly, maybe unwillingly, but I guess we just do adapt! :)
