The artwork consist of hundreds of individual portraits and together they form a complex geometric pattern that resembles the designs found on traditional Persian carpets. Tirafkan makes use of this quintessential craft form to comment on the issues of population growth, gender and identity in modern Iran.

  1. What a wonderfully creative way to deliver information. Most of us are highly visual people, and can better appreciate a concept, idea, opinion, or fact by having a visual with caption to look at, instead of paragraph after paragraph of words. Great share!
