The annual Sakura floral display returns to Singapore for a limited period only! This year marks the third time Gardens by the Bay is bringing cherry blossoms into Flower Dome. For this year edition, Gardens by the Bay is holding a Japanese-themed festival, Sakura Matsuri, to complement the cherry blossom floral display. Here’s what you can expect.
The robust pink blooms of Prunus ‘Accolade’, the romantic weeping form of Prunus ‘Snow Fountain’ and the classic white flowers of Prunus yeodensis.
Prunus yeodensis; Also known as Yoshino Cherry, this Japanese favourite produces classic white flowers that have five petals.
Lifelike resin dolls is an element of Japanese sub-culture. There are 10 dolls on display at the flower field and each worth thousands of dollars.
The dolls are dressed in elegant kimonos and pose in meticulously-created miniature scenes of life amidst sakura.
