Whenever you walked along Orchard Road, you will never missed the 30 floors high Octagon-shaped tower and green-tiled pagoda roof. The iconic building housed the popular TANGS department store and also the Singapore Marriott Tang Plaza Hotel. Without doubt, this luxury hotel has the best location; right smack on Singapore’s premier shopping belt and connected to Orchard MRT Station. I had a weekend stay at Marriott Tang Plaza Hotel and as a Marriott Rewards member, I am able to do mobile check-in. By the time I reached the hotel, my room key is ready to be picked up.
With 372 rooms and 20 suites, this property was built in the 80s. Although it seems aged, the hotel is well maintained.
Executive Room
I got the Executive Room on the 28th floor. Well-appointed with a 46-inch HD Smart TV and views of Orchard Road.
Comfy bed with a choice of down/feather or foam pillows.
Fully stocked minibar.
Nespresso coffee maker.
Working corner complete with Eames Desk Chair.
The Kiblat direction is unexpected but feeling grateful for the hotel’s sensitivity toward muslim guest.
The huge wardrobe is located next to the entrance of the room.
Bedroom slippers, safe box, iron and ironing board are provided.

The luxury bathroom feature spacious walk-in rain showers, as well as extended vanity area.

Outdoor Pool
The huge pool is located on level 5, together its poolside restaurant, Pool Grill which is open to the public. It is nice to have al fresco dining near the pool but I would prefer some privacy for guests using the pool.

Executive Lounge
Executive Room guests are given exclusive access to the newly refurbished Executive Lounge on the 27th floor. Aside from daily breakfast the Executive Lounge benefits include complimentary Cocktails, Hors d’oeuvres and Desserts. I head down during the Desserts service in the evening. It was packed and most of the seats were taken.
Marriott Café
The Marriott Café serve daily breakfast from 6am to 11am. Don’t be surprised that they served Vanilla Ice Cream Waffle in the morning!
The location of the hotel is unbeatable. Perfect for staycationer, business and leisure travellers.
