Review: Pullman Jakarta Indonesia (Thamrin CBD)

There are only 2 Pullman Hotels in the capital of Indonesia and Pullman Jakarta at Thamrin CBD is centrally located; just across from Plaza Indonesia, one of the oldest and most popular malls in Jakarta. I arrived at Soekarno–Hatta International Airport Terminal 3 and took the Airport Rail-link to Sudirman Baru (BNI City) followed by a 10-minute taxi ride to the hotel. Upon reaching the lobby, I was greeted and ushered by the Guest Relation to the Reception desk for check-in formalities.

Check-in was a breeze. I appreciate the welcome juice drink and cold towel while waiting for my key card.

The 15-storey property used to be Hotel Nikko Jakarta but in 2012, it was taken over by Accor and later renamed to Pullman Jakarta Indonesia. Major refurbishments has been completed for the 427 guest rooms and suites in two wings; Main Tower and Pullman Tower, offering panoramic views of the city.

I was upgraded to the next category due to my Accor Gold Status. I requested for a room at the Pullman Tower. All of the Grand Deluxe and Executive category rooms are located at the new wing of Pullman Jakarta.

Grand Deluxe Room

Refurbished in 2014, the 43 sqm Grand Deluxe room is warm and elegant. The contemporary look is set off by a sculpted bed panel; influenced by Indonesian Wayang puppet theatre. The spacious room comes with a king sized bed,  40″ HD TV,  complimentary high-speed WIFI and wide working desk with Connectivity Panel.

Sana Sini Restaurant

My stay includes daily breakfast at Sana Sini Restaurant from 5.30am to 10.30am.

The breakfast spread was extensive. From Western to Japanese and local dishes.

I am surprised to find Yayoi Kusama’s artwork here!

Car Free Day

Jakarta Pullman CBD (19)

Car Free Day falls on every Sunday from 6am to 11am. I managed to soaked in the atmosphere. This is your only chance to get close to the Selamat Datang Monument (Bundaran HI) which is just around the corner. If you are planning to leave for the airport during this period, not to worry. There are alternative way to reach the airport on time.

Whether you are staying for business or leisure, you will find the service at Pullman Jakarta impeccable. This is probably one of the best Pullman Hotels I’ve stayed. For starters, Thamrin CBD is a strategic location to stay. Grand Indonesia mall and Thamrin City Mall is just down the road. Room rates start from SGD 170++ per night.
