Review: Nook-Dee Boutique Resort, Kata Beach

Nook Dee Kata Beach (1)

When it comes to choosing the ideal accommodation and location in Phuket, you’ll be spoilt for choices. I wanted to stay near the beach but away from the crowd. After much consideration, I knew Kata Beach is the best choice. I booked a private transfer and after an hour from the airport, I finally arrived at Nook Dee Boutique Resort. Nestled on the hillside overlooking Kata Bay and away from the crowd, this resort tick off my checklist! The resort is well-designed and the view of Kata Beach is breathtaking; particularly from the lobby, pool, bedroom, restaurant to the rooftop terrace.

Even though the resort is just a few minutes walk to Kata Beach, the steep slope and lack of walkway makes it unsafe to walk. Fortunately, the resort provides complimentary shuttle from 9 am to 5 pm at 2 hours interval. Otherwise, you can hire a car or ‘tuk tuk’ between 200 to 300 baht per trip at a transport booth outside the resort premises.

Deluxe Panorama Corner Room

I was escorted to my room on level 1, the Deluxe Panorama Corner with a sea view.  There are only 3 of such rooms and I was disappointed that the room on higher floors were unavailable. However, well-appointed room with splendid sea view do the justice.

Roydee Restaurant

Breakfast at Roydee was a good spread to meet the different taste buds. The tables at the balcony overlooking the beach is the most popular setting.

Rooftop Terrace

The view at the rooftop terrace is excellent. The noise of the air conditioners can be annoying but definitely worth a visit.

Nook-Dee Boutique Resort is great for laid back stay. You can take full advantage of the facilities without leaving the resort. Downside to this setting is the hillside location that requires transportation to get to the town area. Overall, this property is highly recommended.
