Weekly Photo Challenge: Endurance

This week theme.

Ruins of St. Paul's

Many will agree that the Chinese gaming city of Macau is awash in neon light.  Set aside, the Ruins of St. Paul’s is arguably Macau’s most famous landmark. Originally built in the 16th century, the complex of St. Paul’s College and the Cathedral of St. Paul burned down and was rebuilt multiple times before the third and final fire during a typhoon in 1835 left it beyond repair. All that remains are the iconic stone façade and the grand staircase leading up to it.

  1. This is a lovely shot, and what a great torquoise backdrop there. Lucky that you got to see it up close. I hope to see it someday for myself…if I’m not distracted by the all the games in Macau. Great image for this weeks’ challenge.
