If you are looking for the best area to stay in Taipei, I personally think Ximending is an excellent choice. You will be spoilt for choices with the array of accommodation options in Ximending. After much consideration, I decided to go with Green World Hotel Zhonghua. Boasting its convenient prime location, this property is only a 5-minute walk from Ximen MRT station (Blue line, Exit 5) via the underground walkway.
Since I arrived in Taipei late in the evening, I took a taxi from Taoyuan Airport to the hotel for NT$1200. Lookout for Green World Hotel signage and take the lift to Level 13 for the front desk. The hotel occupy from level 11 to 15 of the building. Do note that Just Sleep Ximending hotel share the same building as Green World but different level and lift lobby. Check-in was a breeze and I got the room I requested for.
Every level has a different theme and there are only 2 lifts serving the hotel floors.
My 37 sqm Deluxe City View Room (Non-smoking room) is located on at the end of the 10th floor and comes with large windows offering ample of natural light during the day.
“Do not disturb” and “Make up room” touch screen switch.
Large comfy bed with firm pillows. Forgot to bring your headphones to listen to music? Do not fret, complimentary use of headphones available in the room throughout your stay.
Work desk, a fridge, an in-room safe
Replenished daily tea and coffee
32-inch digital LCD TV with cable channels. The TV is being secured with a wooden panel and it is impossible for you to plug-in a HDMI or USB cable, The only way to access the TV is the use of the remote control.
View from the room. Ximending shopping district is just across the hotel.
The open closet only allows you to hang a limited sets of clothes.
Toiletries provided in the bathroom
The bathroom has full windows and you can drawn down the window screen for privacy purpose. The toilet is equipped with washlet too. My only concern with the bathtub is that during shower, water will over flow and make the whole bathroom floor wet.
The breakfast dining hall is located at level 13.
