Review: Hotel Jen Orchardgateway, Singapore

IMG_8429

Hotel Jen Orchardgateway is strategically located in the heart of Orchard Rd making an ideal place for shopaholics and staycation-goers. The genre of Hotel Jen is a new brand under Shangri-La to cater the new ‘Jeneration’ of business and leisure travellers. This property has 499 guestrooms with 6 modern room categories.  I got the chance for a short staycation to experience what Jen has to offer.

The hotel is located above the Orchardgateway shopping mall; smack in between 313 Somerset and Orchard Central mall. The hotel lobby is located on Level 10, Orchard gateway. If you are staying in the club room, you can enjoy exclusive check-in and check-out at the club lounge, Level 19. Check-in was fuss-free. The friendly front desk explained my entitlement for the Club Room and directed me to the lift lobby of my room.

My Club King room is located on Level 18. All of its club room is located on either Level 18 or 20 with stunning view of Orchard Rd. The room has a comfy king-sized bed, 40inch TV and most importantly fast WiFi access!

There is no minibar in the room but if you are feeling hungry, you can always try their 24hr room service or simply head down to Orchardgateway mall. Complimentary bottled waters and coffee & tea were provided.

The toilet has an open concept designed. The wash basin, shower and toilet area are all separated. Some may not like the open concept idea but generally this is a trend for new hotels. The usual toiletries are also provided in a plastic zip pouch.

For your convenience; electronic safe, steam iron, ironing board, umbrella and bedroom slippers can be found in the wardrobe.

  • A totally in-the-know concierge to help you get the most out of your stay
  • Complimentary breakfast at L19 Club Lounge

I was at the Club Lounge during breakfast and afternoon tea. It was empty most of the time. Certainly, an ideal place to avoid the crowd at the main dining area. Worth every penny!

5 Thoughts

  1. Stayed there in April and it was fabulous! Centrally located with plenty of great service and the breakfast was really good. I would definitely consider staying there again and this post makes me want to jump an airplane and go!

  2. I likely will never get to Singapore, retired 10 years and some 10,000 mi (16,100 km) away…but would love to, and this hotel would be a likey place to begin. Thanks for the view. M :-)
